Childcare Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Are you passionate about working with children and creating a nurturing, fun environment? Dawra Durella is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Childcare Assistants on a part-time or full-time basis.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Childcare Assistant plays a key role in the care, well-being, development, and education of the children at our centre. We’re looking for someone energetic, creative, and warm-hearted who can bring joy and structure to the lives of our little ones while following our policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
✅Prepare resources such as props and games for children’s activities.
✅Assist in daily care tasks including feeding, diapering, toileting, and supervising play.
✅Maintain accurate records of children’s development and care.
✅Open and close the childcare centre as per set procedures.
✅Assist in setting up and delivering engaging activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
✅Communicate positively with children, colleagues, and parents.
✅Ensure the childcare environment is always safe, clean, and well-maintained.
✅Attend staff training, meetings, and professional development sessions.
✅Perform any other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
✅Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✅Passion for working with children and creating a nurturing, safe environment.
✅Fluency in English (A knowledge of Maltese is highly recommended).
✅Ability to work well in a team and follow directions effectively.
Education and Requirements:
✅MQF Level 4 qualification in Childcare or currently working towards it.
✅School leaving certificate.
✅Valid European passport or work permit to work in Malta.
✅Clean police conduct certificate (to be submitted annually).
✅Certification in First Aid and Paediatric Care.
